The Department has taken some steps to develop church media in PNG for the next 8 Years. Let us share with you the plans and what we have already achieved in the last 4 years.

DEPARTMENT DIRECTIONAL STATEMENT

The latest trends in media development have created a favorable environment for the church to take advantage of the opportunities in spreading the Love of God. Therefore, the initiatives of the department with its service sections (Information Technology, Discovery Centre and the Printing Services) is to establish a nationwide communication network infrastructure, produce media resources and transmit vital information to increase the performance of the church.

E. CONSTRUCTION OF A MEDIA CENTRE

F. DEVELOPMENT OF PNG UNION MISSION PRINTING PRESS

G. ESTABLISH A MEDIA SKILLS TRAINING CENTER

i.The church actively uses media technology covering whole of PNG and abroad that connects people with the gospel message.

RESULTS SO FAR FROM 2011-2015

 A. Vsats have been installed at all Missions & CPC with some adventist schools.

 B. All Missions & CPC now have websites each. You are asked to browse the stories of all missions.

C. All Missions & CPC have excisting newsletters 

D. PNGUM received a FM radio license & its mergeing with PAU's 2GFM. The combined new radio is Hope Radio. It will broadcsat after April 2015.

E. The land appricaltion to build a Media center is now before the Lands Minister & Lands Secretary. We are waiting for their approval.

 F. Printing Press proposal to the Communications depatment of PNG Governemnt is endoresed by the minister, waiting for Governement's release of funds..

G. Completed Mega project Hope Channel in on the 20 February 2015.  303 local content TV programs have been produced and are ready to be broadcasted on a  free-to-air TV license before  2015 ends. Applications for the TV licnese is now underway.
