THIRTY Adventist students attending the Divine Word University in Madang took time out of their study break to help at the recent heath expo.
Most of them are studying health at the university. At the expo, they helped out at the physiotherapy and eye care booths. They also produced pamphlets that were distributed to visitors.
President of the Adventist Students Association Anthon Arivi was grateful for the students’ participation.
“I am very pleased with what they are doing. Although we attend an institution that is run by another denomination, we are able to come together as Adventists and work together to help the church.
“We have a good relationship with the Madang Manus Mission and I am thankful that our students were given the opportunity to come out and serve people during this health expo,” Mr Arivi said.
There are 150 active Adventist students attending the university. During semester breaks they run outreach programmes and health seminars.
